Dallas, TX – Breitling Oil and Gas today announced that the Trinity #1, the first well it its Breitling-Trinity 3 Well Drilling Prospect in Okfuskee County, Oklahoma, is being completed as a possible oil and gas producer after reaching a total vertical depth of 3,753 feet.

From log analysis, the well encountered several potentially productive zones over a gross interval in the Union Valley formation from 2865 to 2905 feet; the Jefferson Sand formation from 2974 to 2981 feet; and the Viola Limestone formation from 3643 to 3660 feet. Testing and completion plans were finalized August 1 and a completion rig and crew moved into location the week of August 2. Natural gas pipeline tie-in is slated for the week of August 16.

Chris Faulkner, CEO of Breitling Oil and Gas, said, “We are excited to hit a good well with three potential producing zones in less than 3800 feet.” Faulkner added, “We will test the well and see where the IP lands and decide how many offsets Breitling wants to shoot for on the acreage block.”

Breitling ran a density-neutron log, microlog and an induction log and decided to run pipe based in analysis by Breitling’s engineers and geologists. Joe Simo, Chief Geologist for Breitling Oil and Gas said, “With the zones we have and the logs I’ve reviewed there is a potential daily flow rate of 200 barrels and two to three MMCF of gas.”

The oil refining industry in North America and Europe has been stuck in a downward trend for the last 25 years or so. As a result, oil and gas engineering has also been trending downward as the number refineries and drilling sites has decreased. Major oil companies have been meeting their engineering needs through engineers currently working, along with a handful they’ve managed to lure from retirement. But those days are quickly coming to an end as more engineers are reaching their golden years. In fact, statistics indicate that careers in this field may be starting to rebound.

A Little History

The start of World War II was a tremendous boon for the oil industry because of the demand for refined products to move the armies of the world. Oil and gas engineering exploded right along with the industry and work was easy to find. Furthermore, oil industry regulations were a lot more lax than they are today. Companies were searching more, drilling more, and refining more. The trend continued through the energy crisis of the late 1970s and into the early 1980s pretty much unabated.

In the early 80s however, as the 60s teenagers were entering positions of influence and power, oil began being portrayed in the public eye as the enemy. The oil and gas industry found itself in a war being waged against it via government regulation and targeted public relations. Around the world oil companies found it more difficult to build new refineries, conduct exploration, and even tap new wells; simultaneously, the Western world became more and more dependent on Middle Eastern nations. Between 1980 and 2007, the total number refineries in the West dropped by more than 60%. Accordingly oil and gas engineering jobs also fell away.

The Industry Today

Although Europe and North America have not even come close to returning to the oil refining output of 25 years ago, the industry is starting to come back as governments are coming to grips with the fact something needs to be done. With the global warming hoax finally riding off into the sunset it’s becoming more and more apparent that we in the West cannot continue to depend on the Middle East for oil. Regulations are being too loosened, oil companies are moving, and careers in oil and gas engineering are opening up.

To meet the current demand for engineers, some oil companies are looking to general engineering contractors who include oil and gas on their list of services to meet current engineering needs. At the same time, they are pushing to hire their own engineers as well doing what they can to encourage oil and gas engineering careers among young people. If the industry rebounds to even half of what was at its peak, this could mean a lot of jobs for a lot of people. And in a world that’s struggling to keep people working, any jobs are a welcome sight indeed.

The oil and gas pipeline sector tacked on a remarkable 2.21% gain on a day the S&P 500 gained a mere .40%, making these companies some of the biggest movers on Wall Street today. The gain comes in light of June spot prices on natural gas climbing since last May, rising $.18 per million Brittish thermal units, or mBtu, and a gain on oil prices hovering around to per barrel intraday. We spoke with Chris Jarvis, he’s an expert on natural gas and oil production companies and president of Caprock Risk Management, a fund that offers derivatives and options trading and hedging solutions for the world’s oil production companies. Our video interview with him will be posted by tomorrow afternoon. In it, we talked about what will happen to natural gas and oil prices should we experience another aggressive hurricane season like we did back in 2005. Check out the video to see what he says.

In the meantime, here are some companies that moved on the back tail of the spot price movements in oil and natural gas in light of BP’s catastrophic failure in the Gulf that are in our focus. Could investors be tired of humungous, large-cap companies and their politics?

Bronco Drilling Company, Incorporated (NASDAQ: BRNC) 0M (MarketCap) closed up $.47, or 13% at .05 a share. Bronco provides contract land drilling and work over services to the oil and natural gas exploration and production companies in the United States.

Royale Energy, Inc. (NASDAQ: ROYL) M (MarketCap) closed up $.18, or about 9% at .25 a share. An independent oil and natural gas producer, whose main lines of business are the production and sale of natural gas, acquisition of oil and gas lease interests and proved reserves, and drilling of both exploratory and development wells. In May, the company reported improved quarterly results.

Gasco Energy Inc (AMEX: GSX) M (MarketCap) closed up $.05, or 14% at $.415 per share. A natural gas and petroleum exploitation, development and production company which is engaged in locating and developing hydrocarbon resources, mainly in the Rocky Mountain region, the company’s shares jumped more than 9% in the last 90 minutes of trading.

Kodiak Oil & Gas Corp (AMEX: KOG) 4M (MarketCap) closed up $.21, or 6% at .48 a share. An independent energy company focused on the exploration, exploitation, acquisition and production of natural gas and crude oil in the United States, Kodiak announced late May 2010 of a new credit facility that will allow the company to implement its growth and expansion plans over the next few years.

Cubic Energy Inc (AMEX: QBC) M (MarketCap) closed up $.06, or 6% at .06 a share. Closely covered by WMM Editor’s Desk for some time now, the company is in our MicroCap Index for showing great potential for growth and acquisitions. Cubic, engaged in the development and production of, and exploration for, crude oil, natural gas and natural gas liquids, yesterday held a shareholder call we were on that outlined growth plans going forward now that the company is cash flow positive. You can also earn 2 percent rebate for using your card for traveling and dining. Another 1 percent rebate can be earned for other eligible purchases.

You can start redeeming your rewards only if you have earned worth your rebates. The rebates that you earn can be redeemed for conservation fund donation, cheques and gift cards.

There is no limit to the amount of rewards that can be earned. Being a BP Visa Rewards cardholder, you have the facility to earn the rebates as long as you possess the card. The frequent travelers can also use the BP Visa Card, as it will prove very beneficial for them.

The card also holds certain platinum benefits like the auto rental insurance, travel accident insurance and emergency and travel assistance services.

The Petroleum and Natural Gas ministry of India has requested the oil marketing companies to increase the supply of the liquefied petroleum gas to meet the rising demand in the country. The petroleum secretary S Sundareshan articulated that, liquefied petroleum gas should reach all the people of India, and it should be done within 2015. S Sundareshan mandated the officials of the oil marketing companies and dealers of the liquefied petroleum gas to check this scheme and it should be carried out successfully. Oil marketing companies currently is bearing a huge loss of around Rs 205 on a single cylinder and this loss will be compensated by the government via subsidy. In the All India Liquefied petroleum gas Distributors Federation conference which held in Mumbai recently, the oil secretary stated that, the oil companies has nearly 12 crore customers and nearly they are supplied with more than 84 crore cylinders per annum. The government plans to increase to around 17 crore customers and this will cover nearly third forth of the total population of the country.

The authorities have knocked down a dozen of full time employees, decreased the salaries and increased the camping amount, boat reservation and registration fees. The State Parks Board authorities are questing for agencies and private crew to control four of its parks. Deb Frazier, the spokesperson of the Colorado State Park told that, the extraction of the mineral in the park provides revenue to them, and it is considered as a vital fact.The reduction in the budget has lead the oil and natural gas companies to extract more oil from the 42 oil wells in the Colorado region. The State Parks Board is planning to sell these oil wells and the oil wells for sale is examined by the experts and the minerals are given as lease for a specific period, by practicing this plan the park is kept busy. Doera said that,LPG is a subsidised product and it must attain the vast population. We have to ensure that it is used judiciously. Garg the elderly vice president of Petronet LNG Ltd, leading importer of liquefied petroleum gas and Sanjay Kumar, the general manager of the Gas Authority of India Limited met the Winston Dookeranthe and the Carolyn Seepersad Bachan, the Finance minister and Energy minister respectively. They discussed to build rapport with Caribbean countries in oil trade and explore the oil wells for natural gas and oil.
